Description Of Essential Duties And Responsibilities
To provide an unbiased and credible opinion in the valuation of residential real estate in accordance with federal and state regulations, secondary market requirements, and internal expectations. Duties will include:
- Assessing regional and local market data to support development of an opinion of value.
- Applying USPAP to produce compliant and credible appraisal reports.
- Inspecting and measuring residential properties to identify physical attributes that impact value and marketability.
- Applying knowledge and experience or acquiring necessary competency to undertake complex residential appraisal assignments in rural, suburban, and urban locations.
- Working independently to manage order volume and to meet delivery expectations.
- Communicating with staff in Appraisal Department to minimize delays or problems in the appraisal process.
- Ensuring that appraisal analyses are well supported and that appraisal reports are thorough and free of deficiencies.
- Primary coverage area will be Palo Pinto, Hood, Erath, Eastland, Parker, and Somervell Counties.
- Candidate will actively participate in the Customer Service First sales and service culture, support the values of the organization and follow established Bank policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Maintain an Appraiser Certification/License and be in good standing with the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board.
- Completed at least 2 years of related field appraisal experience with a mortgage and/or appraisal company.
- Retain a thorough knowledge of residential appraisal practices and techniques.
- Maintain a complete understanding of USPAP and exhibit a commitment to adherence with appraisal standards.
- Have excellent analytical and critical reasoning skills to resolve complex residential appraisal challenges and to employ independent judgment.
- Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Must have the internal drive to work independently with minimal supervision. Time management skills are crucial.
- Have adequate technological proficiency to incorporate technological tools in the performance and delivery of appraisal reports.
