Job Description
Staff Appraiser
This position plays a key role in the valuation of real property and supports our efforts to ensure fair and equitable property assessments across the county.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform field inspections and data collection for real property parcels
· Assist in appraising residential, commercial, and agricultural properties
· Analyze property data and market trends to ensure accurate valuations
· Prepare and maintain property records and appraisal documentation
· Communicate effectively with property owners, the public, and internal departments
· Assist in Board of Revision hearings and provide testimony as needed
· Utilize CAMA software and other digital tools in the appraisal process
Preferred Qualifications
· Prior experience in property appraisal, with a focus on mass appraisal techniques
· Proficiency with Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) systems (ISSG preferred)
· Strong computer, writing, and communication skills
· Familiarity with Ohio property tax laws and appraisal practices
· IAAO certification or coursework (preferred)
Minimum Requirements
· High school diploma or GED
· Valid Ohio driver’s license
· Must be able to pass a background check
