Senior Review Appraiser

The Senior Review Appraiser will be responsible for the review, analysis, and QC of routine and complex residential appraisal reports as well as the completion of various desktop/hybrid appraisal and appraisal review reports. The Senior Review Appraiser will also direct the day to day capacity of their respective teams in addition to tracking and monitoring team performance. This role requires the ability to effectively communicate revision requests and complex appraisal theories to peer appraisers, clients, and internal team members and address their communications and concerns in a timely, professional manner.

The Senior Review Appraiser will complete all reviews in accordance with USPAP guidelines and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations surrounding the completion of appraisals. Ensures the performance of all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates and in accordance with industry best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively and professionally communicate with Appraisers, Clients (including underwriters), and Internal team members, including their direct reports.
  • Proactively monitor the content and status of reconsideration of value requests to ensure AIR compliance and service level standards are met.
  • Proactively solves complex appraisal issues and communicates results to the client or internal contacts.
  • Respond to internal and external appraisal-related questions from the Operations teams, vendor partners and others.
  • Provide appraiser quality feedback to senior level management.
  • Complete desktop/hybrid appraisal reports and appraisal review products.
  • Complete appraisal quality control reviews.
  • Communicate with appraisers to reconcile escalated quality control issues.
  • Maintain an active real estate appraiser’s license in one or more states.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Certified real estate appraiser in one or more states.
  • No adverse disciplinary action, past or current against any real estate license. (appraiser, real estate agent/broker, etc.).
  • Minimum 3-5 years appraisal experience.
  • Knowledge of general, federal, and state appraisal requirements including USPAP guidelines and Appraiser Independence Requirements.
