About the Role:
Appraisers will play a vital role in expediting the permitting process, focusing on projects in flood-prone areas, and ensuring alignment with FEMA and NFIP guidelines. Daily work schedule will be 8 hrs per day, Mon – Fri with the possibility of weekends. This position is expected to last 2-6 months. This is a temporary position with no benefits. Successful candidates will be responsible for working with local permit offices to evaluate residential appraisals that have been provided as part of the permitting process. This evaluation will be used to assist with applications completing the permitting process. This role requires a deep understanding of appraisals and valuation processes.
This is a 1099, Remote Position.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a Certified Residential Appraiser with current certification
- Certifications for TX, LA, FL, SC, NC, GA are a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in residential property appraisals
- Proficiency in appraisal software
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience in using GIS software for identifying flood zones
- Ability to interface and communicate with building permit staff and homeowners
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, or a related field.
- Experience with appraisal software and tools.
- Familiarity with local real estate markets and trends.
Responsibilities:
- Review provided condition reports and photos to assess properties condition and features.
- Analyze market data and trends to determine property values accurately.
- Prepare comprehensive appraisal reports that include photographs, descriptions, and valuation methodologies.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to clients, state and local stakeholders.
- Stay updated on local zoning laws, property regulations, and market conditions to provide informed appraisals.
