South Portland, Maine Tax Assessor Full-Time In-Office $62,419 - $71,545 per year

Job Description

Position Summary

Responsible for contributing to the discovery, identification, listing, analysis, valuation and possible exemption of all real estate and personal property located in the City of South Portland for the purposes of property taxation.

Education

A minimum of an Associate’s degree is required.

Experience

At least two (2) years of related experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or equivalent experience or aptitude in assessing and/or appraising or education and experience in a related field such as real Maine Assessor (CMA) designation or ability to obtain CMA within 18 months of hire.

Salary Range

$62,419-$71,545 annually depending on experience. This position is eligible for annual step increases, and possible annual cost of living increases as approved by the City Council.
