We are in search of a Non-Licensed Appraiser (internally known as Appraiser I) to join our Appraisal department in Pasco, Washington. This full-time position reports to the VP, Appraisal and serves our customers by conducting real estate appraisals, completing market surveys and collecting and analyzing real estate sales information to support appraisals and asset is an entry level position and future development in this position requires the individual be certified to appraise under existing state laws.

After an initial in-office training period, this position is eligible for workplace flexibility and a one-time home office stipend. Employees are expected to continue working from their office location a minimum of 50% or 60% of the time depending on location.

Compensation Information

The base salary range for this position in Pasco, Washington is:

Level I Typical starting salary: $64,000

Full base salary range: $58,500 - $88,200

Annual performance-based incentive target is 10% of base.

Job Requirements

  • Maintain comparable sales data, current improvement cost data, lease data, and other essential resources to prepare appraisals and report trends to management.
  • Assist in completing appraisals and evaluations of loan collateral under the direction and supervision of a licensed appraiser.
  • Collaborate with senior management, relationship managers and credit analysts on complex appraisal and environmental issues.
  • Accumulate required experience and education hours to obtain state appraisal certifications, adhering to stat regulatory guidelines.
  • Work with customers, AgWest employees, and external parties, including traveling to farms or other locations to meet with customers.
  • Identify potential problems and resolve or escalate as necessary.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Successful completion of Basic Appraisal Principles, Basic Appraisal Procedures and 15-hour Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) or equivalent within six months of hire
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Requirements

  • Background in agriculture and/or knowledge of common ag practices and economics
  • Knowledge of appraisal principles and techniques
  • Knowledge of AgWest policies, procedures and loan programs, and financially related services within the Farm Credit system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, with skills in Excel preferred
