Pritchard & Abbott, Inc. (P&A) is a highly respected legacy valuation consultant firm (100 year company anniversary in 2026) specializing in the appraisal of "complex" properties for ad valorem (property) tax purposes. We are geared towards the energy world - for example, oil & gas wells and/or the related mineral interests; large industrial, chemical, and manufacturing facilities; all types of utility properties (pipelines, electric generation and distribution, railroad, telecom, etc.), and related business personal property. In addition to appraisals, we provide comprehensive IT services for all ends of the property tax world, including software, hardware, printing, mailing, and cartography (this job posting for a position in Engineering Services is not in the IT side of our business, although we certainly interact with them). Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Complex Property Appraiser in our Engineering Services Department in Fort Worth, Texas. The successful candidate will be able to communicate with IT employees to integrate data and ensure accurate and uniform valuations are being performed by appraisers in our five district offices. Daily tasks include occasional field inspections, data analysis, model specification, report preparation, and client interaction to address valuation inquiries. The successful candidate will be able to defend valuations in various adjudicative settings ranging from informal hearings at the local governmental level to district or appellate courts on occasion. Reading, writing, communicating, and thinking/problem solving skills are required. A dose of humility and sense of humor is also useful when your opinion isn't embraced by everybody as the only possible answer.
In short, this role involves valuation consulting at a high level and requires a take-charge attitude combined with a selfless service work ethic to produce credible valuations with integrity.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or related experience with oil & gas, industrial, and/or utility properties
- Strong data analysis and report preparation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for client and taxpayer interactions
- Ability to comprehend underlying rationales for valuation conflicts and conceptualize/execute the needed solution(s) to satisfy all stakeholders
- Ability to support your opinions but also compromise and responsibly negotiate when needed within an ethical framework
