Who You Are:
As a Commercial Review Appraiser with Frost, you will be responsible for reviewing and ordering commercial appraisal reports on commercial or special use properties within the requirements of federal and state banking regulations, and professional appraisal standards. You are a self-starter and take the initiative to efficiently review commercial appraisal reports by independent fee appraisers and report findings and conclusions. In addition, you will use your analytical skills to ensure the accurate review of reports with our signature all-win approach in mind.
What You’ll Do:
- Determine type of appraisal and report that is required based on Title XI FIERRA appraisal regulations and the degree of credit risk
- Order original and update appraisals from fee appraisers, monitor status of orders, communicate with fee appraisers/account officers to solve any order problems
- Review commercial appraisal reports by independent fee appraisers and report findings and conclusions in written format in accordance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (“USPAP”) adopted by the Appraisal Foundation
- Report commercial appraisal assignments in Appraisal or Restricted report formats. Written documentation is in accordance with the USPAP, other federal regulatory requirements, and Frost Bank policy
- Complete verbal and written communication with bank officers and fee appraisers pertaining to appraisal report corrections, completion status, and general appraisal information.
- Form a final opinion of value on the properties appraised
- Attend real estate appraisal courses, seminars and meetings for the purpose of maintaining current market knowledge of real estate values, appraisal procedures, and to maintain current Texas license certification requirements for continuing education hours
- Perform all other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- Texas general Real Estate Appraisal Certification
- 3 years of field appraisal experience
Additional Preferred Skills:
- MAI Designation from the Appraisal Institute
- 2 years working in a financial institution environment
