Position Summary
We are looking for a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser to perform valuation assignments across a wide range of commercial property types, including office, retail, industrial, multifamily, and special-use properties. This is a fully remote role, ideal for a self-motivated, self-directed professional seeking autonomy, flexibility, and the opportunity to work on high-caliber assignments across California.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive appraisal reports compliant with USPAP, FIRREA, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct property inspections across various markets in California.
- Perform thorough market research, data collection, and highest & best use analyses.
- Apply all valuation approaches (income, cost, and sales comparison) with consistency and rigor.
- Interact professionally with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders.
- Manage multiple assignments and deadlines independently while maintaining exceptional quality.
Required Qualifications
- Certified General Real Estate Appraiser license in the State of California (in good standing).
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in commercial real estate appraisal.
- Proven ability to manage the entire appraisal process—from engagement to delivery.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, and appraisal software such as Valcre is a plus.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to thrive in a remote work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience appraising a variety of complex property types.
- Familiarity with ARGUS, Rockport VAL, CoStar, DataTree, and GIS tools.
- MAI designation or candidacy is a strong plus (but not required).
