Certified Real Estate Appraiser

Detroit, Michigan Certified General Appraiser Full-Time In-Office $100,000 - $150,000 per year

Job Description

Certified Real Estate Appraiser

WP Appraisers is seeking a Certified Residential Appraiser (W2 Team Member) to join our passionate team in the Tampa/Clearwater, Florida area. It's true, you can work less and make more than a staff appraiser at an appraisal management company.

We are not an AMC or a network of independently managed appraisers but an appraisal firm. If you are sick and tired of low fees, appraisal sweatshops, AMC staff appraising, corporate politics, micromanagement and poor scheduling, or the nuance of running your own business, we would love to hear from you.

We are committed to delivering exceptional service through our core values and professional virtues. We believe in fostering personal growth, professional development, and work-life balance. We are committed to creating a supportive environment where individuals can thrive personally and excel in their careers. Internally, our mission is to empower individuals to reach their fullest potential and lead fulfilling lives. Externally, our mission is to make the appraisals the easiest part of the loan process.

We desire to serve each other and our clients with a high level of service.

Responsibilities

  • Complete real estate appraisals that are compliant with Federal and State laws, as well as being done in accordance with Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) in a timely fashion while meeting turnaround time requirements.

  • Applying knowledge and experience or acquiring necessary competency to undertake complex residential appraisal assignments in rural, suburban and urban locations.
  • Proactive and effective communication with Appraisal Desk staff to minimize delays or problems in the appraisal process.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, providing clear and comprehensive appraisal reports.
  • Collaborate with team members to continuously improve processes and deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Certified Residential Appraiser credential in good standing. Recently Certified is great!
  • HUD-approved appraiser preferred but this won’t make or break it!
  • Superb communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Have excellent analytical and critical reasoning skills to resolve complex residential appraisal challenges and actively employ independent judgment.
  • Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.
  • Empowers those below and around to make well-informed decisions.
  • Purposeful and goal-driven.
