Where: Springfield, IL, Aurora, IL or St. Louis, MO

CMT is actively seeking an IL and/or Missouri licensed Certified General Appraiser for immediate employment in our Springfield, IL, Aurora, IL or St. Louis, MO offices. Our ideal candidate has an interest, or experience, in appraising real estate for public agencies on both federally and non-federally funded projects. Candidate must be able to monitor timelines and tasks simultaneously for multiple projects, meet project deadlines, and work as part of a team to meet client needs. Candidate must be self-motivated, willing to travel, and work independently while also being able to support team projects.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research and analysis to compile high quality valuation reports for our clients
  • Evaluate and analyze data necessary to complete work products
  • Generate appraisal documentation that meets the needs of our clients and regulatory agencies
  • Collect and maintain accurate records
  • Prepare for and participate in legal proceedings as necessary to support appraisal findings
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain project scopes, schedules and budgets.
  • Willingness to travel

Minimum Qualifications

  • General Appraiser Certification
  • Thorough understanding of USPAP and property appraisal methodology
  • Demonstrated understanding of appraisal, engineering, and negotiation principles/terms
  • Experience and demonstrated skills with real property legal descriptions, title research, and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Ability to write/communicate clearly and effectively as well as analyze and interpret a variety of technical, financial, and business-related text; government regulations; legal documents; proposals; appraisals; reports
  • Must be detail oriented, thorough, well organized, and effectively manage time
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and be willing to travel for business purposes
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act (Uniform Act), Code of Federal Regulations (49CFR Part 24), and state codes relating to:
    • Appraisals and Review Appraisals
  • Experience working with federal, state, and local agencies and applicable rules and policies for real estate acquisition
  • Knowledge of the general Illinois and/or Missouri Real Estate market
  • Listed on IL and/or MO Approved Specialty Agent list for Appraisal and/or Review Appraisal
