Open Position: Appraiser Trainee
Full Wage Range: $3,328.70 – $4,203.68 per month
Hiring Range: $3,328.70 – $3,740.76 per month DOQ

JOB SUMMARY: Entry-level appraisal position responsible for assessing residential, land, and new construction properties for tax purposes. Duties include conducting property inspections, determining market value, maintaining records, and entering data into appraisal systems. The role also involves explaining appraisal methods to the public and defending valuations before county and state boards. Works under supervision with no supervisory responsibilities and must meet regulatory deadlines and standards.

Qualifications:
- Requires a high school diploma,
- Strong math and computer skills
- Ability to read, speak, and write English effectively
- Ability to obtain required Washington State appraisal accreditation.
- Must be physically capable of fieldwork in various terrains and weather conditions, and operate vehicles off-road
- Excellent customer service and public relations abilities
- Must successfully pass a background and driving record check
Work Environment:
Combination of office and fieldwork, including travel to inspection sites, physical property assessments, and occasional exposure to hazardous or remote conditions. Position is non-exempt, union-covered, and requires in-person work during regular business hours.
