The Utah County Assessor’s Office is Responsible for Classifying All Property in the County; in Cooperation with the Recorder’s Office, Associate Ownership with the Property; Establishing a Taxable Value for All Property Subject to Property Taxation; and Compiling This Information into Reports that Are Utilized by the Auditor’s Office to Calculate Tax Rates and the Treasurer’s Office for Collections.

The Opportunity

Under General Guidance and Direction of General Manager — Assessor, Performs Essential Work Processes to Categorize Land Records. Ensures Accurate and Up-to-Date Records of Real Property within the County. Coordinates and Processes Information Related to Property Parcels. Performs Essential Work to Determine Valid Land Sales as Mandated. Incumbents Serving in This Classification Support the Appraisers and Maintain the Integrity of Property Data.

  • Starting Pay: Grade 723 $28.67 - $32.94 Hourly
  • Schedule: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday

Job Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or Higher.
  • Two (2) Years of Work Experience in Assessing.
  • Applicants Must Possess a Certification as a Licensed Residential Appraiser with the Utah State Department of Commerce.

Preferred Candidates Will Possess Some of the Below Attributes

  • Preference May Be Given to Applicants with Geographic Information Systems and/or Database Experience.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Applicants Must Obtain Designation as Ad Valorem Residential with the Utah State Tax Commission within Two (2) Years of Employment.
  • Applicants Must Possess a Valid Driver’s License and Obtain a Valid State of Utah Driver’s License within Sixty (60) Days of Employment.
  • Selected Applicants Will Be Required to Submit to a Pre-Employment Drug Screen and Background Check.
