Job Description: Residential and commercial field appraiser that is responsible for the appraisal of properties and interacting with taxpayers to resolve problems and settle values.
Duties include: Accurately measure properties, gather information and characteristics necessary to complete an appraisal for properties. Represent the District before the Appraisal Review Board. Communicate with property owners effectively via telephone, in person or email. All other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook and Apple products. Must be proficient in mathematics. Possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to review information, analyze data, ask questions, and manage time effectively to execute assignments timely and accurately. Must be able to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints either orally or in writing. Must have reliable transportation, a valid Texas Driver’s License and proof of liability insurance. Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Driving personal vehicle on all types of roadways. Must register with Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and complete educational requirements for certification as a Registered Professional Appraiser (RPA).
Preferred skills: 5 years of appraisal experience, construction or related field experience. Understand the property tax system, including the three approaches to value, property tax exemptions, and agricultural use value. A working knowledge of Marshall Valuation Service. The ability to read, analyze, and interpret closing statements, fee appraisals, surveys and title insurance.
Essential Physical Demands: Job requires sitting, walking on all types of terrain, climbing, standing, driving vehicle, bending, kneeling, reaching and twisting upper body, data collection work is outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
Salary commensurate with experience
