About the job

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts Physical Inspections of Agricultural Properties to Verify Evidence of Agricultural Activity and That Requirements for Preferential Assessments Are Being Met. Communicates with the Taxpayer to Maintain Proper Documentation as Required.
  • Works with Customers and Taxpayers to Assess Needs, Provide Assistance, Resolve Problems, and Is Committed to Providing Quality Service.
  • Locates Properties by Address, Legal Description, or Parcel Number for the Purpose of Inspecting Properties Agricultural Activity.
  • Accurately Measures and Photographs All Buildings, Structures, and Improvements on the Property. Identifies Site Characteristics, Amenities, Condition, and Other Relevant Data That May Affect the Value of the Improvements or Parcel.
  • Prepare Scaled Drawings of the Property Showing All Improvements. Processes Digital Pictures, Scans Inspection Results into the Account. Making Recommendations to the Assessor on Agricultural Status. Performs Other Duties as Assigned and Required.

Supervision:

Under General Supervision of the Senior Lead Appraiser, Receives Assignments and Is Expected to Carry Them Through to Completion with Substantial Independence. Work May Be Reviewed for Adherence to Instructions, Accuracy, Completeness, and Conformance to Standard Practice or Precedent. Recurring Work Clearly Covered by Guidelines Will Be Reviewed by Senior Lead Appraiser and/or the County Assessor.
